LAI's advanced manufacturing of wind-powered
turbine subassemblies featured in trade magazine

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 12, 2009 — Advanced methods of manufacturing wind-powered turbine equipment assemblies by LAI International, Inc. are featured in a major trade magazine for design and custom manufacturing.
LAI, a strategic supplier of precision components and subassemblies for original equipment manufacturers, is featured in “Manufacturers Riding the Winds of Renewable Energy,” a technical article written by Mark Shortt in this month’s edition of Design-2-Part Magazine.
LAI, which recently has won several manufacturing contracts for wind-powered electrical generating equipment, provides turnkey manufacturing and overhaul services for many components and sub-assemblies found in both gas and steam turbine units for power generation plants around the world.
“LAI's entry into the wind power generation industry was a logical result of its work as a supplier of precision components to other sectors of the power generation industry,” Shortt reported in the article. “The company had already been producing similarly shaped conical and cylindrical rings for steam and gas applications — parts that were in the diameter range that its customer was looking to pursue for the large bearing cages.”
