LAI expands manufacturing capabilities

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 19, 2008—LAI International, Inc., a strategic supplier of precision components and sub-assemblies for original equipment manufacturers, announced it has completed major equipment upgrades at its facility in Phoenix.
The facility completed installation of new high-speed waterjet machining workstations that handle large metal sheet sizes, increasing the number of cutting heads by four times. Intensifier units have been installed to increase capacity for high-pressure waterjet machining.
“The facility upgrades allows us to increase our production capacity in terms of volume and raw material size,” John Rogers, vice president of operations for LAI, said. “The production floor also was re-configured for more efficient throughput.”
