Waterjet cutting for armor is a superior machining method for processing shapes because the direction of the cutting is unlimited. Curves, corners and holes are easily cut into the material, whether it is aluminum, armor steel, composites and Kevlar. Waterjet machining also can achieve smooth edge finishes (as smooth as 125 RMS) in fiberglass, eliminating the need for grinding in many cases.
