Certified quality engineers use automated Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) combined with Unigraphics and Valisys software to inspect complex three-dimensional parts and surfaces using electronic CAD data.

LAI's automated Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), combined with Unigraphics and Valisys software enable quality engineers and technicians to inspect complex three-dimensional parts and surfaces using drawings and electronic Computer-Aided Design (CAD) data. This technology allows LAI to map, process and inspect hardware for cost-effective verification of tooling-type cyclical and functional dimensions.

For inspection and calibration applications, certified quality engineers and technicians also use conventional mechanical inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, hardness testers, height stands, gauge blocks and sine plates, borescopes, endoscopes and microscopes. Comprehensive capabilities for in-house repair and replacement of out-of-tolerance details and components differentiate LAI's calibration capabilities from standard calibration facilities.

LAI's calibration services include:
  • Automated Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection.
  • Unigraphics and Valisys software.
  • Inspection of cyclical and functional dimensions.
  • Repair and replacement of out-of-tolerance details and components.
